About the Media...
Be Careful in Choosing News Sources!!!
The good, the bad, and the really bad...
Ben depends on your ignorance...

Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (R, MN) asked
the American public to show up in Washington to
personally lobby congress against the Health Care bill.
She wasn't sure if many people would come...
25,000 citizens from all across the USA answered the call,
arriving in cars, buses, trains, and planes.
The result was an amazing rally of people
standing shoulder to shoulder for liberty!!!
And how sweet it was...no one knew a stranger.
I was surrounded by people from CT, AL, MA, PA, and NY.
Complete strangers, yet we talked about our families
and hometowns as if we had been friends for years!
In front of me were other Kentuckians...this photo
shows the beautiful flag of our Commonwealth
waving before the Capitol dome.
After the rally, the crowd moved over to
legislative office buildings to call on Congress.
Everyone I spoke to mentioned friends and family who wanted to attend, but could not make the trip.
We who were there stood not only for ourselves, but for you, our fellow citizens.
Then I read the Washington Post's
account of the day...
"No One Said Freedom Was Pretty"
By Dana Milbank
The "making" of the news...
To marginalize the impact of the event,
Milbank under-reported crowd size and assigned dismissive labels to attendees:
"5,000 tea-party regulars and
antiabortion activists"...
with some "covered in fake blood and
carrying dolls representing aborted fetuses."
He cited 4 signs which were
in poor taste, and painted the rest
of the event with the same brush.
Milbank continued:
"Objecting to the health-care bill is one thing.
But doesn't it send the wrong message for
House Republicans to hold an event
on the...
"Capitol grounds full of hateful and gruesome words and images? "
So what's the point of my little story here?
Media Bias!!!
The events of the day as they really unfolded were
unrecognizeable from the Washington Post account.
The Post conducted an INTENTIONAL SMEAR
of thousands of good citizens attending that rally.
In the process, they were smearing you, too.
Look at the photos on this page.
These people are YOU...
Americans who pay their taxes, work to care for their families,
help others in their communities...
Americans who want government to get out of their way,
rather than enslave them.
The photos on this page tell the real story...
The images were not fabricated or
selected according to an agenda.
I simply photographed the crowd from where I stood.
A caller to the Mark Levin Show reported standing next to one of the
objectionable signs, and watched Milbank "talk the guy up".
The caller, from Virginia, was accompanied by a friend from California
who had flown all night to get to the rally.
Upon seeing the sign in question, they groaned and commented to each other
that this guy would be the one the media reported,
with the other thousands being ignored.
Sure enough!
Shortly a very "friendly" Milbank showed up.
Click here to watch the grand finale of the rally!
At the end, copies of the 2,000 page bill were tossed to the crowd.
Watch the fun, then consider the Post's description.
FYI: The flag with the central blue star
in the photo above is one flown by families
of deployed members of our military.
An entry on the discussion page
following the article challenged Milbank's
dismissive and inaccurate portrayal of the rally.
Milbank's response?
He admitted that 90% of us were "decent."
Then he suggested violence:
"Too bad one of you didn't slug the guys...
and send them off to the Capitol physician."
This was an open forum...
Anyone could attend!
Yes, I do consider the actions of those few individuals unhelpful...
But to beat them up?
Who does Milbank think we are...
The SEIU?????
Why is all this important?
It is these news outlets that have framed the
political issues of the day.
For example: Global Warming.
Hysterical reporting has convinced many people
that it is reasonable to cut off water supplies
to farmers in CA in order to "save" a fish the
size of your thumb.
Without Fox news, no one would know that farms
in the San Joaquin valley are now dust bowls.
These farmers have had their family businesses
destroyed by government edict, with no recourse.
Without bloggers and "alternate" news sources,
you would not know that 31,000 scientists have
signed a petition declaring
man-made global warming a hoax.
Ben Chandler, Obama, and other statists
in Washington depend on you receiving
only "approved" news.
That's why the White House has attacked
Fox News and Rush Limbaugh.
This administration will not tolerate
voices of dissent.
It is imperative for you to be vigilant and wise
in following current events.
If you want to know where to go for good
media coverage, just listen
to the White House!
See who they demonize...
then become part of the
"demonized" audience!
