Pre-Election Ben voted
against the Bush Bailout Bill in October 2008. The given reason? The bill was too expensive and rushed through Congress too quickly. Silly me! I believed him!!!! So when Post-Election Ben met the Obama Stimulus Bill, I foolishly thought the same logic would apply... But Ben voted for it! What a difference a day makes... an ELECTION DAY, that is. |

With one vote against the Bush Bailout Bill, Ben covered a multitude of spending sins!
It was a Made-For-Election-Day Extravaganza!!!
He got to "man up"....
Cast a vote against an unpopular president, encourage deliberation and good sense,
AND APPEAR to be fiscally responsible.
Blue Dog all around!!!
It played well with the folks back home, too! We all clapped, cheered, and stomped our feet in the bleachers.
(Then comes Election Day.............Ben goes back to Washington.)

Why would I doubt dear Ben's sincerity on this vote?
After the November 2009 election, Ben donned his Obama T-shirt and SPRINTED to the left,
leaping and whooping the whole way!!!!
Auto Bailout, Stimulus, Cap and Trade, SCHIP, Payment for Performance Act, Hate Crimes Bill, Cuts in Military Spending,
And more!!!!
If it was a leftwing cause, Ben voted for it!!!
Of course, he always had good explanations for the folks back home...
For instance, on Cap and Trade:
"The world is coming to an end...but the United States Congress can stop it!
Who could be against more taxes and unemployment, if it will save the world?"
Do I see a few hands raised out there?
Poor Ben...the folks back home started to get a little too rowdy...
Spitballs were flying; boos and hisses were aimed at Washington!
So Ben voted "NO" on healthcare...
Not to worry, folks...Ben cleared his vote with The Big Guy...
Obama "was OK with it
because I had supported him on lots of other things."
You're supposed to trust Ben now...
